Ferrous mobilising Bacteria (FEBAC)

Introduction :

FEBAC is a biological fertilizer based on a selected strains of naturally-occuring beneficial autotrophic, acidophilic bacteria Acidithiobasillus ferooxidans. Acidithiobasillus ferooxidans is a gram negative, rod shaped, non spore forming bacteria. It is used as an effective soil inoculant.

Mode of Action :

Enzyme Production :
Acidithiobasillus ferooxidans release an iron oxidase, which allows them to metabolize ferrous/iron.

Energy Metabolism :
They require inorganic molecules as an electron donor and inorganic carbon (such as carbon dioxide) as a source. They obtain nutrients by oxidizing iron and sulphur with O2. Acidithiobasillus ferooxidans grows at PH values of 4.5 to 1.3 in basal salt medium and derives its biosynthetic requirements by autotrophy i.e. it use carbon from atomspheric carbon dioxide. The bacteria derive its metabolic energy by oxidation of reduced inorganic sulphur compounds or ferrous ions.

Method of application :

It is recomended for all crops.
Soil Aplication : Mix 3-5 kg /acre of FEBAC with compost and apply to an acre of soil

Shelf Life :

FEBAC is stable for a period of 12 months from the date of manufacturing.
