  (Paecilomyes liacinus)

NEMA is a biopesticide formulation of Paecilomyces lilacinus. Paecilomyces lilacinus is a naturally occurring fungus, which parasite plant pathogenic nematodes, like root-knot nematodes.

Mode of action

The fungus parasite on nematodes. It grows profusely on the egg mass of the nematodes and also penetrates the egg. The fungal hyphae which penetrate egg destroy the embryo and thus preventing further development.

Sun Agro Nema is a eco-friendly and effective product for the control of nematode diseases affecting banana, potato, vegetables, ginger, cardamom, sugarcane, orange and several other crops.

Product specification

A talc based wettable powder containing a minimum of 2x108 colony farming units per gram.

Dosage and method of application

Seedling/cutting: 10g/1liter

Rhizomes/tubers: Mix the required quantity in water and dip the cuttings, rhizomes, tubers and roots of the seedlings for 10 minutes before planting.

Nursery bed drenching: 10g/liter of water/sq meter area.
1.Soil application@30-50g/plant apply immediately after planting or at the time of first earthingup.
2. The fungus can also be multiplied as below and apply@300-500 g/plant

Soil application: Mix Sun Agro Nema 1kg of the product with 10 kg Neem cake, 90kg of well dried farm yard manure of organic manure, sprinkle a small quantity of water and keep for 4 days covered with gunny sack. After that turn over the mixture and keep for another 3 days. Apply this mixture by broad casting or in furrows or near root zone. Ensure enough soil moisture for better results.

Compatibility:

This product is compatible with most of the biopesticides and biofertilizers. If it is combined with Trichoderma viride and Pseudomonas fluoroscens its efficacy is increased manifold.

Precaution:

Apply chemicals fertilizers or pesticides only 7-10 days before or after the application of 'Sun Agro Nema'. Make sure that sufficient moisture is in the soil before application of this bio-agent.
