Vetri (Versatile biological Pesticide)

Vetri is a biopesticide formulation of Verticillium lecanii. Veriticillium Lecanii is a naturally occurring entomopathogenic fungus which affects all soft bodied insects like aphids, mealy bugs, whiteflies, thrips, scaleinsects and mites.

Mode of action:

This fungus produces abundant spores and mycelium. The spores which are slimy in nature gets attached to the cuticle of insects. The spores germinate and produce hyphae and penetrate the insect body.

An enzyme produced by the fungus help it to penetrate into the insect body and proliferate within the insect. These heavy growth of the fungus makes the insect hard and mummified. In addition, the fungus also produces mycotoxin which kills the insect within 4 to 6 days.

Beneficial effect:

Sun Agro Vetri is a eco-friendly product and highly recommended for crops which are export oriented, where insecticide toxicity are not desired. It can be used in vegetables like tomato, chilly brinjal, onion, bhindi, field crops like cotton, rice, sorghum, sunflower, plantation crop like tea, coffee, cardamom, coconut and fruit crops like grapes, guava, sapota, citrus, mango, pomegranates. In addition it has its use in horticulture and home gardening.


A talc based wettable powder, containing a minimum of 2x109 colony forming units per gram. Also available in liquid formulation.

Dosage and method of application:

Use as a foliar spray @ 5g of Sun Agro Vetri in one liter water or 750g - 1000 g in 200 liter of water per acre. Spraying should be undertaken during early morning or late afternoon. Thorough coverage of both sides of the leaves is very essential for good results.


Compatible with most of biopestisides.


Apply chemicals fertilizers or pesticides only 7-10 days before or after the application of "Sun-Agro Verti". Make sure that sufficient moisture is in the soil before application of this bio-agent.


Keep in dry and cool place. Avoid exposure to direct sunlight or heat.
